Guru admits reason to PCers

Hello, gang!

I'm sure you have noticed I have been later (even than usual) the past couple weeks. I decided you deserve an explanation.
Also, I didn't want you to think I was getting lazy on you!

I live in a big tourist area and, like many other places in the USA, the last couple weeks have been much hotter than normal.

The 911 people called me 2 weeks or so ago and told me they had a lot of victims of the heat. They were tourists who were camping in tents, not being able to afford air-conditioned motels.

They asked me if I would help out by taking some of these people in to my house for awhile. Well, what good citizen of ANY community would say "no" to a request like THAT?

Then it turns out that some of them were followers of poker and when they saw me, recognized me, and happened to be fans of mine.

So how could I sneak off to my home office and ignore them?

That is where some of my time has been going, taking it away from my dear PCers. But knowing you like I do, I knew you would want me to do just what I have been doing, AND by forgiving me for the time taken from you, YOU TOO are helping out these unfortunate people, some of them recovering from heat strokes.

So there you have it.

Altho I regret the time missed at my PC office, I cannot in all honesty and clear conscience, apologize for it. I can only thank you enormously for your understanding.

I can also, again, thank you for your incredible patience with me.

Definitely no apology needed for helping people in need.What you did is exactly what your PCers would expect from you.I just wish I could have been there to finally find out which of all the pros I watch is you.Maybe some day.LOL!!!!

Char: Thank you, but who wouldn't do it?

Bower: You may meet me sooner than you think. I have not forgotten, nor would I ever, the special sleepover long-weekend party I hope our PC family can have at my house eventually.

It will be by invitation only because I want to make sure the participants are REALLY participating and dedicated members who are proud to be part of our group and are always willing to do whatever it takes to protect it! In simpler words.......TRUE PCers!

There is absolutly no need to apologize when doing something that is right. I know that while 9/11 was happening many of my fellow Newfoundlanders took hundreds of stranded US travellers into their homes until the no fly ban was lifted. One of the US pilots ( from Florida I believe ) experienced his 1st ever visit here. He has since retired and now operates a sort of travel club for American tourists to come visit here and he comes back himself all the time. Fjords, Icebergs, whales and the 1st Viking settlement in NA PLUS the people here. These are some pics I took a few weeks ago.
