Well, sir, I am bluntly honest, loyal to both people and causes I like and admire, and I love animals, especially all doggies, sometimes I thnk more than people!
I have a genius IQ, altho you would never guess it from my posts, because in many things, I know very little about them.
When I love, I love with great intensity -- and I can neither love nor like anyone whom I cannot respect.
I am often called overly-empathetic, because I find it so easy to put myself in others' places and feel what they feel and hurt with them if they are hurting. Sometimes to the point of even developing their hurting symptoms. There is nothing I can do to control this aspect of the Nature I guess God gave me before birth.
I have been an extrememely hard worker all my life, even as a kid. At first, it was necessary. Now it is an unbreakable habit.
I have a big sense of humour, and am easily tickled to laughter, but in spite of that, my normal demeaner is quiet, thoughtful, and solemn.
I need other people, more, I think, than most.
I have no predjudices, whatsoever, am not in the least judgemental, and believe very strongly in personal freedoms and the right to individuality. I care nothing about current styles or fads.
Although the majority opinion is that I am very attractive, I go far more for comfort than for looks.
If someone -- anyone -- needs something more than I do and I have it, it is theirs.
I believe without a shadow of a doubt that what goes around comes around.
I am not a church-goer usually, but no one's faith in God could be stronger than mine, and I worship him in private and also talk to him. I never understood how people believe that if you talk to God--that is praying, but if you say God talks to you -- they say that is insanity. Do they think He can hear but cannot speak?
Once I have called someone "friend", which usually takes a long time, then they are my friend for life, no matter what.
Five terms I love dearly are "honor, noble, respect, beauty, and truth". You could add to that "poker". LOL!
I am a halfbreed. My mother is American Indian and my father a fair and blond German.
I believe in patriotism to my country, but not necessarily to the people who make up its government at any given time.
I am a lifetime scholar, altho I was an educator by profession.
And I am sure that is more than anyone cared to know about me, but it is a pretty complete and honest description.

Yes, Poppy, it was GREAT to see your post! I wish you would do it more often, on ANY topic!
And ....ALW.... You just barely beat me to asking Royalblush to marry me!
One other thing I happen to know about her because she has helped me: She TRULY IS royalty.
She comes from a royal family of long heritage. Her great-grandfather AND her grandfather were the Chief of a nation. And her mother, herself, her son, and now her child granddaughter are all Shamins -- royal and powerful medicine men/women.
I guess she was too modest to include that.
Proud to be.....
HER PokerGuru, too!

Poppy, your picture reminds me of my own experience from past....
years ago , when AOL was the only IP and paid by minutes (in 1992), I post a picture in my profile ( first scanner was piece of art ...lol ) , where you could only see tip of my head and glance of my face (very similar to your pic ). I was rollerblading in park, and my face was down. You could see my figure, but not a face. That picture brought so many guys chasing me ,that I married one of them ... even he is 10 years younger then me :-)
Now you know something about me to ...lol
5`8`` , 135 , green eyes , dark blond
My "baby" husband is an architect, and I am a language teacher , but not working anymore.Have to have time for my son , my Rottwailer , my husband and to play games at at PC !!

Alw, since you keep watching this story I can tell you some more details ....
I was living in NY and my husband in CA, he draw ( he wanted it to be original ) a car from CA to NY to see me first time , then he send me a airline ticket to see him, then we both start to drive a car , me from NY and him from CA, we met in Oklahoma ( middle of our route ) and then we went to Las Vegas and got married !
All this happened in period of one month !!!

Hi kaska321,
Thank you for sharing your precious memories with us all.
What a wonderfully romantic, and unique first meeting you both shared.
It brought a big smile to my face as I read about it.
Please forgive me for asking, but I am dying to know.
If you both went to such extraordinary lengths for just your first meeting.
What was your wedding day like?

kaska321 - 17.06.2007, 01:14
Post subject: lol
That is very good question Alw.... we decide to get married one evening , it was 7 PM and we went to first store we could buy wedding rings, after that we took my son and head up to Las Vegas... we were there 1 AM , but then City Hall was open 24/7 ( not anymore :-( ), so we got our wedding license and we went to White Chapel ( this place doesn't` exist anymore too ) It was 3 AM already, priest was drunk and had terrible smell from his mouth ( I still remember his odor :-( )
We paid for whole service with pictures, but week later we got our money back, because none of the pictures come out :-) Fortunately my son, our only witness was making pictures too, so we had some memories on paper too :-) .Then we went to Bally's and slept a long time ...
After we come back from Las Vegas, my husband family ( its a huge one ) was so surprise and upset , that they didn't` want to talk to us for a long time ...lol
Right now , we have very good relation with all family and they did forgive us :-)

Thank you kaska321,
A very interesting and amazing story, with perfect ' fairy tale ' result's.
I think you could say without doubt, that your husband succeeded in his effort to make your first meeting ' original.'
You both met and were married so swiftly. Did you ever feel that you were taking a risk in any way.
Or were you both 100% certain that you'd be where you are today.
As for his family, they were probably irate because they never thought of doing this themselve's.
By the way, what about the real reason everybody gets married....
The wedding presents of course.
Did you receive any at all?
PS Very nice picture.

Alw, because of your questions , you force me to tell all my live story here...lol
But , you right... now when we think about it, it was very risky and bold move on both of us.Years ago,we didn't think about it, it seemed so natural and desire by both of us.We are still very happy , that we had the courage to make it work . Wedding gifts .. they come later, weeks after the wedding :-) My husband has the two older sisters ( very conservative type, both are architects ) and one older brother ( scientist ) . Some how, they start to like me from the beginning and we are getting alone very well, lucky me :-)
Good things are happening in live !

I am very sorry kaska321, please forgive me for being so rude.
It was such a nice tale, that I kind of got a little wrapped up in it all.
Anyway, these kind of stories are made for sharing.
I think you should take some of the blame kaska321, ( lol ) because you made the account of your meeting & marriage to your husband evermore interesting.
By the the way, what wedding presents did you get? And have you still got any them?
How did your husband propose to you? Did he get down on bended knee? Did you laugh? Did you cry? Did he cry?
Did you hear violins play?
ROFLMAOOOOOOOOOOO,
I'm only joking kaska321,
Thank you for sharing your wonderful tale with us.
I would tell you about my 18 year relationship, but it wouldn't be as exciting as yours.
In fact it's probably the exact opposite. lol

Alan, you could look at this with different prospective...if you share with us , we can learn from your mistakes .... if you think there were any. 18 years together it is a very long time indeed ...
I think it could be good for you too , I bet many people would rather read sad stories then lucky once :-)

And you are right ... happy or sad stories - doesn't matter - learning about other members is great.
I love when I know more than just their ID and maybe country where they are from ...
I've made LOTS of great friends here and the other forum and many of them have become real close to me.
It doesn't matter if there are thousands of miles (or kilometres LOL) in-between us. True friendship can overcome the distance ...
So ... thanks to Utah x 2, Virginia, California, Australia, Finland, UK ...

My daughter had been asking for a tattoo for ages.
I finally agreed after she found a mobile tattooist who would tattoo my daughter for £40 to £50 less than the shop's prices.
Unfortunately it cost me much more than money. My partner began an affair with him and asked me to leave. I refused.
In the heat of an argument I said,
"I was going to find this man and rip his head off"
I didn't mean it literally, apart from the odd scuffle,I've never had a real fight all my adult life and I doubt I ever will.
She had me arrested for threats to kill. I taken from the house and placed into police custody for 2 days, which gave her enough time to change the locks.
I went back a few times begging her to reconsider but she was so hostile and cruel towards me that I had to walk away. I haven't seen her or my 3 year old son for almost 3 months.
I still can't comprehend what happened, why it happened, and how quickly it was all over.
I also have a criminal record.
Her affair with the tattooist ended 2 weeks after I left.
valeria - 19.06.2007, 05:45
Post subject:
Well ALW this may sound cruel but not meant that way. If she didn't have an affair with that tattoo guy it would have well been someone else. Apparantly she wasn't committed to you anymore and your relationship was already in trouble. People who are committed to a relationship and are happy don't have affairs.
I have found communicating is the best way to keep a marriage or any relationship on good firm ground. If you don't have communication and tell each other what you feel then you don't have much. You can't expect the other person to "know what your feeling" if you don't express it. I am not talking about you only.. apparantly she didn't feel the need to communicate her change of feelings before she had an affair.
I am sorry for your loss of your partner and especially your break with your 3 year old son. I hope you and she can communicate in the near future to keep up your relationship with your son without animosity but that is difficult without communication.
I have had 2 marriages so I know where your coming from. It was easier for me because I did the kicking out. But both of them deserved it. I never regretted either decision because it was because of what they did and how they acted. Also lack of communication.
I think it is harder for someone who is the one kicked out especially if they think everything is still great. It is a shock.
It will get better in time. Really. Life goes on and hopefully you will find the right person who is the other half of you.
My brother married this girl over 20 some years ago which the family really didn't care for that much. Nobody thought it would last. But you know what? They are still married happily. The secret to their marriage is that every day after work they come home and sit down with coffee and talk about their day and things going on in their life. Even the kids knew that that one hour was mom and dads time. They shut out everyone dring that hour. No phone calls no interruptions. They talk every day still. No secrets, no problems that they both don't know about. They work it out together. That's a marriage.
I feel for you but it will get better. I hope I didn't sound preachy

Valeria,I take reassurance from your words.
All I can do is take whatever she throws at me.
I cant throw anything back at her because I still love her, and I don't wanna hurt her.
Before I left, I asked her to say something nice about me.
She genuinely struggled to answer my request before finally saying, "You're good at your job."
LMAO, it wasn't the answer I was looking for.
I've really struggled with the housekeeping side of being on my own.
I never knew there were so many different things to pay, I reaally begrudge it, and an sometimes convinced that I'm being connmed from all angles.
I never knew you had to pay for water. I thought it was free bacause it was tasteless, and it was water.
Anyway, on a brighter note, I did a weeks work for a shopfitting company a month ago.
This morning I received an offer of a contract for their next, and mch bigger contract in London. It's very long hours 7 days a week.
So I have a positive to build upon.
Thanks for the reassurace and for sparing the time to reply.
I really appreciate it

I was reading ALW's message and have to reply ...
You know what - you're not alone - not by a long shot ...
Something a bit similar has happened to me, twice.
Valeria is right - key to good relationship is communication and respect.
The thing though now-a-days seem to be ... relationships, marriges are taken quite "lightly". As soon as "honeymoon" is gone or spark is lost - out you go and bye ...
Girlfriends, boyfriends, wives or husbands to some are like furnitures almost ... "Nawww - I don't like that one anymore - need new, better, much cooler looking, the latest "fashion" show piece ...".
That's very immature behaviour, because the ones who throw their relationship/marrige out of the window just like that in most cases doesn't understand that every day routine will come into the new relationship too and then what? The circle is ready - new one will come in the picture sooner or later ... again, again AND again ...
Someone said once ... in our time we are used to get everything asap ... Fast food, fast service in shops, cafes etc and fast relationships too ...
It doesn't matter where you live in the Western world, but in these greedy and selfish times it's all about me, me and MORE ME ...
The hell with others as long as everything is GREAT FOR ME!
I've been single for a while now and done my fair share of pubbing and clubbing and it really makes me sick at times when talking to a guy ... and he says "Yeah, I really like you, you are so cool and I'd like to take you home ... Ummm, but ... I am married (or in relationship) btw, but it's going all wrong, REAL BAD, so I don't feel quilty being here or talking to you like this ... or going even further ... "
This is so typical ... and every time when I hear the same s**t I just walk away with "byeeeeeee".
I have absolutely no respect for people who cheat.
They are cowards (sp?) who don't have the guts to face their significant others and TALK /TELL them sorry, but this isn't working for me.
Instead they run around, find someone else and then think they are in 7th heaven. Yeah ... maybe a month or 2 or even 3, but they just don't get the fact that the "bliss" will fade away eventually, ALWAYS.
ALW ... just move on - she doesn't deserve you.
I understand you might still love her, but to be brutally honest - it's a waste of your time.
People who are capable of doing what she did loves only one person - themselves.
They are so stupid that they don't understand sooner or later the new relationship will become "old one" and then what ... ??? "On the road again" ... where the grass is greener ...
NEWS FLASH - it never is greener, but they just don't get it.
They will never be TRULY HAPPY, because they don't know what it takes to LOVE, RESPECT and CHERISH ANOTHER HUMAN BEING ...
Oh - and every time you feel sad or low ... THINK about your ex and something like -->
<a href="http://www.commentbuddy.com/"></a></a><br><a href="http://www.commentbuddy.com"><img alt="MySpace Stupid Comments" border="0" src="http://www.commentbuddy.com/images/Stupid/commentbuddy-com-4.gif"></a><br><a href="http://www.commentbuddy.com/"></a></a><br>

OK ... maybe a bit extream, but it has worked for me LOL
Good luck ALW ... I hope you get to see your son soon
In time everything will be ok
. Believe me, I know so ...
Good things happen to GOOD people ... it's called KARMA ...

Okay gonna try and make this simple lol
Im 37 yrs old
Bartender (14yrs)
Im a Mother of 3 - 21 yr old son , 19yr old daughter ,and 11 yr old son Grandma of 4 - 3yr gr-son , 2yr gr-dghtr, 8mth gr-dghtr, 7mth gr-son
8month gr-dghtr from my 19yr old daughter .. the other 3 grandkids are from my 21 yr old son ( horny S.O.B lol ) ruff ruff
Been with my kids father (40yrs old) for 24yrs (yep over half my life)
and yes every relationship has its up and downs but....we just make it a point to look forward and not backwards.
With him being a Truck Driver (staying away from home 2-3 nites a week)
Me being a Bartender (comming home 1-2 days a week at 4 or 5am)
Our #1 important VOW in our relationship is - TRUST
If we can Trust 1 another then we can Respect 1 another!!
Oh Yeah ..Did I mention we have NEVER MARRIED

I agree totally... but if you have communication and respect trust follows naturally.
Ok so now we have communication, respect and trust for a good relationship....and honesty so 4 basic things

Hi kaska321.
It is true, I have met and become friends with some wonderful people at Poker-Crush.
And no, you didn't mention this was your third marriage. LOL.
Though I'd bet all I owned on your third marriage being the most happiest. Would I have won?
kaska321 - 22.06.2007, 02:58
Post subject: Hi
Of course , you would won Alan !
How did you figure this out ...? ...lol
As they say " third time is a charm " , so , you have to start looking :-)

LOL ALW and kaska ...
You are the best ...

kaska -
I've been married once and don't want to get married never ever again, so ... I'm doomed to be unhappy if "third time is a charm" ?? LOL
Ah well ... still I hope my track record of "Men Behaving Badly" is done and the next SERIOUS (LOL) one will also be THE ONE ... although "serious" people bore me LMAO
ALW -
While looking THE one and having fun in the process is AWESOME!
You might end up learning lots of NEW things in the process - like playing pool LOL
I highly recommed it ... when you are ready to "play the field" again.
It's really refreshing
Have a great weekend

May I just go back to an earlier post,
mojojds,
I love to hear about long & successful relationships.
The love you & your husband have for one other, must, by now, after 24 years, have grown into something extra ordinary.
The kind of love that person for person, only the very fortunate few will ever realise.
Congratulations, (maybe to early) on your soon to be Silver 'commonlaw' Wedding Anniversary.lol
Youv'e gotta love common law Wedding Anniversaries. lol.
I found this poem which I think is a fitting tribute to the many years you & your husband have been together.
Big Dipper
Climbing aboard together
The starting climb
The tension of the launching ramp
Holding your breath at the crest then...
Free-fall!
Hitting the first turn that pulls and tears
The fast straight
The buffeting corners
The ups and the downs
Holding hands
Holding tight
The nerve-breaking twists
The terrifying turns
Screaming and crying
Shouting and laughing
Round and round and upside-down
Leaving memories in your wake
And driving into the future.

Thank you all for the advice which I appreciate,
but its been a very long time since I was last single and looking to meet someone.

My dear and precious PC participating members,
That word "participating" has come to mean a lot to me.
I would like you each to look again at the name of this thread. Or maybe I am the one who is confused.....I thought it was the "PokerGuru's Request" thread. It COULD BE!
This is one thing I love about my members. Think of the relationships WE have with ONE ANOTHER as VERY good friends!
All my life, the most rewarding things have come to me through being a part of a SPECIAL group of people. And here I am again.....I HAVE MY VERY SPECIAL GROUP!
Yes, some of our posts may seem a bit strange for a poker forum, but at least we never forget that human beings are made up of a multitude of parts.....and in our case, poker is just one of them. THIS ASPECT (posts like these I have just been reading in this thread) of our poker forum is what makes us so very DIFFERENT and BETTER than any other such forum. We NEVER FORGET that we all are special human beings! We have many different things about ourselves and also many things the same.
We treat one another as HUMAN BEINGS, not just an impersonal BOARD (a message board). This is the kind of poker forum I wanted -- something new and different and offering more -- an I thank you for making it happen for me!!!
Once again, I find myself wanting to say "I am soooo proud of my PCers with guilded wings"!
This thread has been fascinating reading. You ALL are such gentle-hearted people -- the very best kind!
I appreciate every post every member makes. Making posts is what makes you a "participating" member -- the very best kind, again.
So thanks to my VERY BEST!
Your Guru

Artist: Jim Reeves
Song: Dear Hearts And Gentle People
Album: Songs To Warm Your Heart
[" Songs To Warm Your Heart " CD]
I love those dear hearts and gentle people
Who live in my home town
I love those dear hearts and gentle people
Who never ever let me down.
They read the good book from Friday `til Monday
That`s how the weekend goes
I`ve got a dream house I`ll build there one day
With picket fence and ramblin` rose.
I feel so welcome each time that I return
`Til my happy heart`s laughin` like a clown
I love those dear hearts and gentle people
Who live and love in my home town.
--- Instrumental ---
I love those dear hearts and gentle people
Who live in my home town
I love those dear hearts and gentle people
Who never ever let me down.

I`ve got a dream house I`ll build there one day

Dear Alan ...
I am impressed
- you sure are NOT a quitter!
Your last post proves it
Ummm ... You don't have to worry about dinners or ironing or hoovering -I can handle those even if sleeping ... and with a left hand only LOL
I am more worried about could you handle me and my personality & some "habbits" of mine ...
Like -
1) Would you be cool and calm if I watched DM (Depeche Mode) DVDs and drooled bucketfulls thanks to certain Mr Gahan's a** shaking ... ?? LMAO This has been going on 20+ years and I can't get rid of this habbit nor I want to ... LOL
2) As I like to have fun from time to time ...
Would you go pubbing with me? Oops ... stupid question - I kinda forgot for a moment that you are British LOL
FYI - as long as I have some Thorntons chocolate and Blossom Hill Zinfandel wine from time to time ... and free access to TV and DVD player ... and laptop (=computer LOL) ... I'll be happy ...
BUT ... "Houston we have a problem!"
I recall you asked Ms Royalblush to marry you a while back too?!
Sneaky, sneaky ...
What's up with that case ... ? LOL
I need to know ... before I make up my mind ...

Dearest Poppy,
Please forgive me for taking so long to reply.
I was called to a job that required urgent attention.
I've been working in a very beautiful east coast town named Whitley Bay, which isn't very far away from Helsinki.
I cant help feeling it was a missed opportunity for coffee during our lunch-hours.
Now then, I wouldn't see your fondness of DM dvd's & your drooling over Mr Sagan's bum, or your 'pubbing', or your craving for Thorntons chocolate and Blossom Hill Zinfandel as 'habits.'
I would only see these things as you having fun.
This would cause a smile on my face that would be wider than the North Sea that seperates us both.
Besides, I grew up on a diet of Culture Club, George Micheal, Duran Duran & Depeche Mode, I love Pubs, I'm an excellent pool player who would enjoy helping you improve your game.
I'm very fond of wine, and I'm a Thorntons chocoholic.
You would also love the very special box of chocolates that are delivered to me every month. Made by the finest chocolatiers in all of Europe.
How can we lose?

Hello Alan ...
Hmmm ... it almost seems like we're match made in heaven
Especially if you could live with my obsession of your fellow Brit Mr Gahan LOL
It's bad one - I think I have the David Gahan Syndrome and there's no cure ... except
him & DM on DVDs
So when can I book my flights?
Oh BTW ... just one MINOR detail LMAO
I am a "package deal" ... 5 in 1 ...
